Improving the service you and your clients receive – meet the new member of our property team

We’re always looking for ways that we can improve the service we offer to you and your clients, so we’re pleased to welcome a new colleague to IPM this month!

Donna Butler will join our property team from 21 June. Donna has more than 20 years’ experience dealing with properties in self-invested pensions and will predominately focus on new purchases, property sales, and leases.

We are excited to bring someone with Donna’s background to our property team. This is an area that continues to grow for IPM and, with Donna’s experience, we are confident that she will be able to assist her colleagues quickly.

Expertise in property and in-specie transfers

The level of enquiries we are receiving for property related SIPPs has increased significantly over the last few months. We now own more than 1,100 properties on behalf of our clients, have close to 100 pending transactions being worked on at the moment, and have already completed on more than 25 transactions so far this year.

A particular area we are speaking with advisers about is transfers in-specie of property from our SIPP providers or SSASs. These can sometimes be initially viewed as complicated, and we will admit that a transfer in-specie of property will not be the most straightforward task that you will undertake!

However, with our experience and highly personal service, we are confident that we are able to offer an alternative to your clients. Donna and her colleagues will be able to support you and your clients on these matters.

We have previously written about some of the areas to consider when looking at a transfer in-specie of property as well as producing a checklist which we hope you find helpful.

We’re thrilled to welcome Donna to the team and look forward to her expertise supporting you and your clients in the months and years to come.
