Our People

IPM is a people business. We are proud to have a very experienced and pro-active team working with us. Working in the service industry we believe it is extremely important for our introducers and clients to build relationships with our staff, many of who have been with IPM for over 10 years. As well as being personable the majority of our staff are hugely experienced in the SIPP industry ensuring that you receive all the technical back up and support you require.

A list of our staff members, contact details and job roles can be found here. Details of our key members of staff can be found below.

David Sutcliffe

David is co-owner of IPM. He was instrumental in forming the company and has over 30 years experience in the pensions industry. Since achieving an MSc in Personnel Management from Aston University, David’s career has seen him involved in all areas of pension planning including a period with a major UK life office as a regional sales manager. His involvement with self administered arrangements started in 1988 with a city based SSAS consultancy and latterly with SIPPs, which lead to the creation of the IPM Personal Pension Scheme in 1995. David’s day to day involvement with the company is focused on ensuring the service offered by IPM evolves so that it continues to meet the needs of our introducers and clients.

When not in the office David typically can be found in the French Alps sharing his passion of skiing with his wife and two daughters, out running or on his bike.

Jonathan Lochery

Jonathan is a co-owner of IPM and was an original member of the IPM staff following the establishment of the company in 1999. He studied Economics and Politics at the University of Leeds. After graduating in 1989 he started his career in pensions with a number of UK insurance companies providing technical sales solutions to the IFA market.  In 1999 Jonathan joined Rea Brothers to promote their SIPP offering. This employment continued with IPM after the sale of the business where Jonathan was tasked solely with expanding the existing client base by developing relationships with financial advisers nationwide. Jonathan’s technical knowledge on the industry has been fundamental in building IPM into the company it is today. Jonathan also chairs IPM’s investment committee.

Jonathan is married and with two children who take up the majority of his spare time. When not following the turbulent fortunes of Oldham Athletic FC Jonathan is usually reading through Stuff magazine plotting which gadget to buy next.

Ian Napier

Ian is head of our property department, taking over the role in June 2014. After graduating with a degree in Law in 1998, Ian joined an insurance company where he was employed as property administrator, quickly progressing through the ranks to become a purchaser. In 2003 Ian was asked to join IPM by Barbara with whom he had worked with previously to join IPM’s newly created property team. Since then Ian has been a crucial member of team, developing procedures and processes which form the basis of our commercial property offering. Ian has also taken on a compliance role since the SIPP industry’s regulation by the FCA.

Out of the office Ian is a keen reader and an active sportsman listing tennis, running and football amongst the sports he participates in.

Claire Warren

Claire joined IPM in 2003 in the role of senior team administrator. After gaining an honours degree in Economics, Claire’s career in pensions started when she joined the SIPP department of an insurance company as an administrator in 1996. She was quickly promoted to senior administrator where she studied for her Financial Planning Certificate before being made SIPP team leader in 2001. Her experience for running a team of administrators and leadership qualities proved to be an asset once she had joined IPM and in 2005 Claire was promoted to her current position of Head of Administration. Claire is now responsible for designating the roles of our staff and ensuring that the day to day administration of the IPM Personal Pension Scheme remains at the highest standard possible. She also boasts an excellent technical pensions knowledge.

Aside from pensions Claire’s interests include reading, socialising, long walks and football where she actively supports Tottenham Hotspur FC.

James Randall

James has been with IPM since early 2002, originally as a junior administrator and is now Associate Director. James has worked in all areas of SIPP administration since he has been with IPM and developed the procedures for processing the new business, an area which he particularly enjoyed as this was a more client facing role. In 2006 he moved over to the sales and marketing side of the business to develop existing relationships with intermediaries and clients. Aside from this James was also instrumental in the development of the website and continues to work on the online facility. He is also responsible for the production of all company literature.

James has completed the Certificate in Financial Planning in order to learn more about the work carried out by financial advisers. When his young family are not keeping him on his toes James enjoys keeping fit by competing in running events, triathlons and obstacle course races.
