A SIPP can invest in freehold or leasehold commercial property.. This is generally shops offices and industrial units but can also include agricultural land and commercial woodland.
A property with a residential element can only be considered in particular circumstances and our property team will be happy to provide more information on whether a particular property with a residential element can be considered.
IPM will not purchase residential property of any description on behalf of our clients.. This includes houses, apartments and hotel rooms.. The tax liabilities for such an investment are so punitive that IPM has taken a decision not to offer this alternative.
Overseas properties, whether residential or commercial, will not be considered.. This is down to a number of issues including foreign states not recognising UK trust law and the logistical issues of owning an overseas property.
